Looks as though both of us believes the other is incorrect.

Which probably means that neither of us is correct..

It sometimes means, when two knowledgeable individuals dedicated to the Truth disagree, that the Truth lies somewhere in between. But of course that probably wouldn't apply in this case--therefore, I find it unnecessary to step in.

Take it back from the big government socialists.

Do you really think people want to go back to racial oppression and Jim Crow? Really??? We elected a black President so he could lay all the criticism he's garnering off on racism?

The worst racists/prejudiced bigots/stereotypers in the country right now are the big government leftists. In the early 60's, blacks had won the fight! But then handed the reigns right back over to the cadre of white racist liberals who had merely taken off their sheets. Most are still on that plantation.

"Only 35 percent of those who strongly approve of the tea party agreed that blacks are hardworking, compared with 55 percent of those who strongly disapprove of the tea party. On whether blacks were intelligent, 45 percent of the tea-party supporters agreed, compared with 59 percent of the tea-party opponents. And on the issue of whether blacks were trustworthy, 41 percent of the tea-party supporters agreed, compared with 57 percent of the tea-party opponents."

I would have hoped that the greatest percentage of american's would have held the belief that blacks are hardworking, intelligent, and trustworthy. Anything lower then 80% is an epic embarrassment.

This next one I've heard from folks here as well. Sad to really believe such tripe.
"62 percent of whites who identified as Tea Party members, 56 percent of white Republicans, and even 53 percent of white independents said that today discrimination against whites has become as big a problem as discrimination against blacks and other minorities. Only 30 percent of white Democrats agreed with that statement."

I agree, I would've expected close to 100% from all groups. I wonder though, how is it broken down age wise? I'm betting younger generations have a more positive opinion of Blacks, regardless of political affiliation or any other variable.

That sure sounds reasonable to assume. Hopefully that is true. It is a stark reminder that we have not totally left that ugly time behind just yet.

The Tea Party has never been about becoming a third party, it's about retaking the Republican party and they've had some impressive success there this year. The WSJ had a excellent article yesterday about Jim DeMint and his conservative fund PAC. With only a budget of $2 mil, they have already "helped 8 underdog Reaganite candidates win Republican Senate primaries this year".

That was most glaringly apparent in Colorado where with only $141,000 they helped Ken Buck defeat Jane Norton, who was endorsed by 25 Republican senators, which DeMint said made her the establishment candidate. Another notable come-from-behind (close but apparent) success was Joe Miller in Alaska over incumbent, establishment Sen. Lisa Murkowski.

Of course they aren't all successes. Here in Arizona, McCain, with his presidential campaign connections and (overwhelming) money, kept his Republican nomination. If he waffles again after all he's said in his campaign, he risks being lynched--metaphorically speaking of course.

But the Tea Party overall is impressed with the apparent shift from RINOs* to Reaganites, which is all its ever wanted.

The public's anger at the big government tax and spend establishment is swelling to a crest in apparent good timing for the election. If it crashes as promised, it will be amazing how many RINOs will see the light the next day. I can see November from my house!

(*RINO = Republican In Name Only)

Correction needed here, NOT every American in this country has "anger at the big government tax and spend"......well, at least NOT this American! (me) and hey, don't get worried about mc cain and his "presidential campaign connections and (overwhelming) money, unless he was back in the days where "lynching" was LEGAL.....only whites who supported the ending of slavery and involved in ending segregation were "lynched"....it's a safe bet that, he'll be just fine.

Lots of people won't admit to being a 'crat these days.

And why is that Hoppy? Are "crats" suppose to be something bad or what?

It didn't say or imply "every" American, only a strong majority.

Of course 'crats are bad. If they were good there wouldn't be a need for Republicans or any of the upstart parties.
