the word "nigger" as harmless as it could have been has unfortunately been turned into a very derogatory and racist word during the civil rights movements when used by non blacks.

the word I believe originates or deviated from the Spanish/Portuguese/Latin word meaning black..

I think it's silly too being as the word originally means the color black.. nothing more.

but being as how America is still retarded.. many will get offended by the usage of the word as it was most recently and commonly used in a derogatory manner.
