At the stage I'm at, I really wouldn't have any use for a whole lot of it. Few little things I want and some debts to pay off but if I had several million it would just collect dust in the bank or else get given away. I don't want to travel, I don't want to drive. I'm into video games but have more than enough for a lifetime on my PC already.
In fact it makes wonder if the only reason that people horde cash is if somewhere in the back of their mind they think they're playing a video game and those dollars are points.

And you're right. It's not so much about the importance of money. It has to more to do with getting what we want, and that's what makes money important, because it links to getting what we want. No one would care about money if they could just help themselves to whatever they want.
