Ah, yes. The Bolsheviks. Simply put: Party of Lenin.

The Bolsheviks were essentially the predecessors to the Communist Party of the Soviet Union, before Stalin (that democidal crazed lunatic) declared the name Bolshevik (meaning majority) was obsolete, given that there were no Mensheviks (meaning minority) left. Eventually through Stalin, and some may argue even Lenin, the original Bolshevik party advocated:

The organisation of the Dictatorship of the Proletariat (Rule by the Workers for those who can't get past the word dictator) into "Soviet Democracy." Soviet referring to the Russian "Sovyet," meaning council, but in this case specifically workers council. More info on that here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soviet_Democracy

The common ownership of the means of production

And all that other good Communist stuff. Until Stalin f*ed things up quite nicely.

Essentially, yes. It's pretty much direct democracy.

I don't know, Lenin wasn't exactly pro-democracy himself. The co-ops were his idea, he just realized they wouldn't work (yet. He never really gave up on the idea) once his program to end the family structure ended in complete failure (also something he never fully gave up on). And as to the Dictatorship of the Proletariat, I seriously doubt it would've ever gone past dictatorship, and I'm not the only 1 who thinks so. Emma Goldstein told Lenin as much when she met him. He completely ignored her, and look what happened? Authoritarianism turned into Totalitarianism just like she predicted.

As the Greeks learned 2500 years ago, it doesn't work. And judging by the current events in Greece, the lesson still hasn't taken. Every time you have direct democracy, the majority eventually votes to take from the minority. And all the potential despots demagogue it to death; getting themselves installed as dictators for life--which other potential despots take very literally.
