I still need gas for my truck.
A wind mill or solar panel won't fit in my gas tank.
Hydrogen will probably replace gasoline. It's already available, and some cars are already going to be released this year, if they haven't already. In fact, Iceland was going to be completely gas free within a few years (I say was because I have no idea how that whole bankruptcy thing has affected those plans). Of course, like solar and wind, it's still pretty expensive. But with time, it'll go down. The only real problem is the fact we still need oil for things like plastic.
