is this joke racist?

I didn't find the joke racist.
However, think that was because of the manner and attitude with which he said it (or at least the manner and attitude that he portrayed - no matter what his personal beliefs and feelings were). Definitely could see this being offensive if said BY any race TO a person OF ANOTHER RACE if it was said in a derogatory or condescending manner, or attitude.

Sometimes it's not the SPOKEN word/words that is offensive,
it is the UNSPOKEN words, the words left unsaid, the words implied, as well as the attitude, and/or derogatory or
condescending manner used ---- IT IS THIS that makes words or gestures/looks offensive.

Way I see it is if Bernard Manning had said it but changed the races round everyone would be in shock and it would be a terrible racist joke. But because it had a proviso and was said by a black dude it's apparently not racist.
