He did say he regretted making those comments. I hope he is sincere in that and learns from this.

What about supposed freedom of speech though?.I kinda agree that as long as he wasn't teaching any of the students any of his beliefs then what business is it of anyone else.

I would like to know where he posting his comments ie Forums, online news sites,Youtube ect...

He never specified a particular race but spoke in general terms regarding immigrants. I would assume that is his right under protection of free speech.

Which is why this happened "The committee does not accept that references to 'immigrants' are of themselves suggestive of any particular views on race."

Case closed. (Thrown out actually)

I'm not questioning the justness of the law, I just don't see how refering to immigrants as "the filth of the third world" isn't racist.

And? He's still discriminating against people based on race. He's pretty obviously refering to non-white immigrants there. Therefore he's discriminating against anyone who isn't white ergo those comments were racist

Yes indeed, that must be why the case was thrown out.

Yes. Of a hearing. By the General Teachers' Council who also said that the views weren't intolerant but just "troubling". Am I the only person who thinks that that's wrong?

I think that's one of those fine-line things that borders on intolerance. I think the Teacher's Council is just trying to avoid a lawsuit.

Of course, I live in the US where frivolous lawsuits are prevalent and that teacher/activist would probably have had to publicly apologize to Al Sharpton for his comments. - Don't ask, I'm rambling.

I dunno. We have our fairshare of really crazy lawsuits here too.
