Plants don't have separate genders. (in the sense that animals have separate genders.)

Some biologists used to say that about dogs though (ages ago). They used to do operations, and say the screams were just escaping air. Amazing how scientists change their minds, init?

Science has shown t hat plants do react negatively and positively to stimuli, so it would go to reason that, although it may be in ways we don't understand, they have "feelings". They are alive as we understand it, but as to pain, duress, etc. it stands to reason they do feel these things in ways we don't yet comprehend.
