Weird magazine cover stories

I was in the newsagents this lunchtime and I happened to pass the section with non-glossy women's magazines. I've never seen such bizarre cover stories in my life. "My baby's bowel fell out", "stranded at the airport because if I fly I will explode", etc. I can only assume (and hope) that some, if not all, these hideous tales are concocted by a pack of chortling journalists, who bet on the best worst one each week. Those two headlines were genuine by the way. Made me feel quite faint.

More scarey, is the fact that women need to read about it

True. And there must be plenty of women who do because there are so many different titles floating about. I suppose they could be fun if read with tongue deeply in cheek.

I'll draw the line there. Frankly, they're the magazine equivalent of the Chamber of Horrors created by Jeremy Kyle.

Well, I'll just settle for the idea that women are odd...

I won't disagree, I do have odd moments myself, but you'd have to be barking mad to settle down with a nice cup of tea and a story about somebody's eyes melting because she spent to long on a sunbed. Or whatever.
