Now, as I understand it, liberal politicians have a more open mind to different thing while conservative have a stuck-in-the-mud view of things. But in another epic politics battle with my teacher, he argued that liberals want the government to take over like socialism and the conservatives give it to the people. Personally, and someone can whiplash me with words if they want to, I believe many conservatives tend to forget about the rights of the people and only focus on financial gain. If anyone has something to say about liberal views vs. conservative views, go for it!

Why is your teacher telling you all about his political views? I never had a teacher do that.

To boil it down to it's most basic form (and I'm getting very general here), Conservatism believes in smaller government while Liberalism believes in bigger government. Really, there's more in common between the 2 then there are differences.

Liberal is derivered from the Napoleon army going through Europe liberating the monachy regimes. Conservative is when the monach got back control of their country. Pacifists were the guys to chicken to fight.

At its very basic level, conservatism believes in fewer individual rights and liberalism believes in more individual rights.

He's one of those "This Country Is Going To The Dogs!" people and it's really more of the whole class he tells. He saw the way I was looking at him like I wanted to argue (I didn't because I like not being sent to the principal), so he started his "Look At The Facts" thing. This is when he gives a whole bunch of numbers and shiz, and I know now to actually see if he's telling the truth.

We had way too many teachers pushing their political views on us. I personally think anyone doing this should be sacked - which in our case would have removed some bloody useless sods - and one particularly arrogant violent nasty minded socialist t***.

We were talking about Massachusetts new governor and a girl said how he was a conservative. Then my teacher said liberal wanted to make the government in control of everything and conservatives loved the people. He said the new governor was behind 18 points in the race and when he said the chair did not belong to Ted Kennedy but the people, his points shot up and beat the competitor. Because, and I quote my teacher, "The people were like he said he cared about us and that's a first since they have had liberal governors since the 1970s". Then he spewed out a number about Obama and Obama's idea of near socialism, but suddenly remembered he was a teacher of science and started teaching again.

That's not even completely true. Mitt Romney was their governor for quite a while, and he's a Republican. The only thing that seems correct in all that is when he said Ted Kennedy's seat belongs to the people.
