I am a Euro sceptic as they say... in fact I am way past the sceptic phase... I would like to see us leave and the sooner the better.

The EU is Corrupt and undemocratic to its core, a profligate cess pit that costs us billions.

It is a law making machine that foists its regulations on us, and we can to nothing about it.

No one in this country ever voted for what we now have, we have been denied a say on the recent constitution something promised the country in labours manifesto... just another lie.

Cameron also went back... bottled out... on his "cast iron" guarantee the he would give us a referendum

The next election is being fought on on spending cuts... they are all trying to outdo each other.

We could at a stroke save tens of billions of pounds if we got out of Europe, savings that a majority of people in these islands would approve of.

So I have a question for anyone that believes that Britains continuing membership is a good thing, and it is this.

Can you give just ten good reasons why we should remain in the EU?

Unfortunately I think we've gone too far down this road to just back out completely. But I would like our involvement to be restricted to those things that directly relate to a 'common market'.

I like the UK being part of the EU. It means we can move and live wherever we want in Europe easily, trade with other European countries, get healthcare there, etc. Plus there's the Eurovision

Actually, I'm not sure. I would have thought all of the countries there were in the EU, but I'm probably wrong.

The EU is a very good idea, the cooperation alone is worth it.

Make no mistake, the UK would be financially and probably economically better off outside the EU - the EU needs us more than we need them, a look at the trading figures and contributions show this, however it isn't just about money.

Agreed though the EU democracy of the leaders leaves a lot to be desired.

Wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't last as long as many people think it will

Not surprised no one can think of ten good reasons for us to stay in there arent ten in fact I doubt if anyone can even come up with three.Certaily not if you believe in democracy and clean government free trade and the nation state.

Eighty percent of our laws are now made by unelected people in Brussels, we have the charade of voting people onto the EU gravey train that can instigate no laws or repeal any.

The whole mess is so corrupt that last November for Sixteen years in a row accountants have refused to sign off the accounts

The European project from its conception was never intended to be either a free trade organisation or democratic. It was designed from the start to do away with the nation states, it was always intended to become a united states of Europe

Year on year Billions wasted, restrictions placed on trade that fuel third world poverty, and 80% of the laws of my country coming from this cess pit without any argument or discussion by the only parliament that matters to me, and thats in London.

I asked for ten reasons to stay in.... lets make it really easy give me one good reason... because if you cant come up with one good reason you should all be voting UKIP to get us out.Your vote to send your choice to represent you in Westminster is now almost as irelevant as voting for an MEP

Looking at the ages of posters many of you you will be voting for the first time at the general election. I wonder how many of you realise just how much your vote and that of everyone else in the UK has been diminished as to be almost worthless... I also wonder how many of you actually care.

For some reason Israel are in Eurovision (remember Dana International, the Israeli transsexual?) and they're also members of UEFA!

That is apparently for "satellite" purposes.

It is true that they access tv from the European Satellite transmitter, it's weird that they do that and not the middle eastern one though.

Vote UKIP?

Well there is that option, but there is also a "proper" party which is promising a referendum on the EU - the LibDems.

If having a referendum is so important - personally I think the economy, education standards, standard of living, criminal justice, the NHS........tiny things like that are sorta more important - but if it is important, then why not vote LibDem instead of a bunch of yahoos and thinly disguised xenophobes who frankly think the wogs start at Calais.

Even better - the LibDems actually have other policies other than Europe. Amazing huh.

Your comments are those that I have seen a hundred times,I am however at a loss to understand why you libs and the socialists always end up name calling when you have no argument.

Instead of calling UKIP and by implication those of us that would vote for them Xenophobes who frankly think wogs start at Calais and therefore also racist why not try to give Three good reasons why we are better off in the EU than out.

Maybe you could for example show why my thinking that the figures I give you below of money wasted is wrong or racist or xenophobic, and why that money would not be better spent here on exactly the things you mention like the NHS and education.

Once the harmful impacts of its numerous policies and regulations have been taken into account, the cost of our EU membership is calculated to be ?118 billion a year. That is equal to ?1,968 for every man, woman and child ? a life-changing amount of money for millions who are currently struggling to make ends meet.

So what is that cost made up of? Up front, we paid the EU ?16,398 million of taxpayers? money directly in 2008: ?650 for every person, or ?45 million a day. This goes into the central EU budget. Of course, that ?16,398 million contribution is a gross figure and the EU are always quick to point out that we receive money back from Brussels in the form of grants.

In fact, in 2008 they were generous enough to hand ?9,830 million of our own money back to us.

Maybe if you have time you might also tell me how the cost of around ?2000 PA for a every man woman and child helps with the cost of living you say you are concerned about..

Oh and you mentioned Criminal justice maybe you know something I dont...

This from the Telegraph ( but you will find its the same whatever the source ) is pretty much my take on it

Can you imagine being tried in this country for something that is not a crime here? If this sounds like something Kafka might have dreamt up, it is actually a proposal before EU interior ministers that will soon be enshrined in UK law. It is the sort of legislation that, were it going through Parliament, would be exciting a good deal of comment and debate; but because it is being promulgated in the councils of Europe, hardly anyone knows it is happening.

The initiative, known as the Transfer of Criminal Proceedings, is the latest in a succession of pan-European reforms designed to speed up extradition, prosecution and conviction of criminals. You might think that is no bad thing ? except that how a country organises its system of criminal law and sanction is the very essence of nationhood. https://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columnists/philipjohnston/6528811/EU-reform-that-sweeps-British-justice-aside.html

Even better - the LibDems actually have other policies other than Europe. Amazing huh.

What will be really amazing is if you or anyone else can refrain from witless sarcasm long enough to give three good well thought out reasons why we are better in than out.
