Google has put itself into a bit of a situation I think. They are an advertising business. They are now selling products. How lucky would any other company have to be to get the amount of free advertising that Google is using to sell it's phones right now? Not only that, but Google is the Number one online advertiser. No other online advertiser has as much influence as they do. Google decides it wants to plaster the internet with it's phones, who else could afford the (obnoxiously) far reaching campaign they have going right now? Are they paying themselves for their own services? How does that work?

I wouldn't call it 'free', you still have to pay for paper space...etc also, like tv stations to advertise etc, but I know what you are getting at

No, Google's advertising is online, there's no paper.

Here at all the bus and train stations there are hanging posters of Chrome and their Phone.
So they sure are using paper

Ahh, I didn't know about that.

These ads are starting to get on my nerves though. Every website i go to has ads for the Nexus one. And now that I just mentioned it, I'm sure it'll be on this page too

Well,
Google likes to force you to use their products so this is the ideal way.
Now when you enter youtube with a browser different than chrome you get spammed with ads for chrome.
So soon if you enter youtube with a smart phone different than the nexus one you'll be spammed with ads for the nexus one

I'm sure that isn't the only way of advertising the phone though
