No problem there with my kids. I was very athletic and brought them up to love sports and outdoor activities and did it with them.

It's so much fun to spend time and play with your children, I can't see how any parent wouldn't want to do things with their kids at all.

drug addicts with kids is a seperate issue. If they are that poor how can they afford the quantity of food they give, and the snack food. You'd just buy less of the better stuff.
I shop, my wife shops and i know exactly how much food costs. Also in England people with lower earnings qualify for vouchers to buy fresh veg and milk etc.
There quality of food to be taken into account yeah, but also quantity.

I would agree that people earning a lower income do get vouchers from the government. But all i see where I used to live is those Parents selling them for drink. To be honest there is no excuse my sister has a limited income and she finds it cheaper to buy fruit and veg and make her babies dinner from scratch rather then buying all the processed Cr*p you find in shops. She will buy about ?30 worth of veg and fruit spend a night cooking it all and preparing different meals and then she will put them into portion sizes and freeze them. This sounds like more effort but its not. If you think all she as to do in the morning is get out her food for the day and warm it up.

I wouldn't say it never happens os that's a bit naive, but I don't know anyone who sells them and where I live a lot of people do get the vouchers, myself included. I don't buy veg with mine, instead they go towards the milk bill. They are a good idea but without wishing to sound ungrateful they don't really buy much veg at today's prices.

To be honest and without trying to put your sister down she isn't going to get much nutritional benefit from that frozen veg because from the moment that veg is picked it starts to lose it's nutrients, by the time it's cooked it's lost more, then when froze it pretty much loses all it's goodness. That's not to say she doesn't have the right idea as it's certainly a far more economical method to buy food in bulk and freeze it.

I actually discovered it was beneficial to buy the steam fresh packs. they cost on average ?1 for four bags. One bag is a serving for me and my son, so it work's out at 25p a portion for us both. The best thing is that the nutrients are sealed in within hours of picking so you're not compromising on nutrients or taste. There's also no wastage at all. Obviously I do prefer fresh and will buy it when I need it, but I often found I was throwing half of it away so a very false economy. So now i buy fresh but keep the steam packs in the freezer for when money is a bit tight or I'm in a hurry and can't be bothered to stand preparing veg!

It all comes down to the individual person's metabolism. Some people have a very high metabolism as others have next to nil.

I was a very thin toned young girl and became heavier with age. I can't even look at the things I used to eat without gaining weight.

2 meds I'm on lower my metabolism almost to nil and I don't eat junk food. I hate it when people assume just because people are heavy that all they do all day is eat.

My sister can eat anything and not gain one ounce as I look at what she eats and gain 19!

The other problem is that people assume that if you're not fat you're healthy and that can be so untrue, a slim person can have more body fat than a larger person as was proved on an infamous autopsy program, that I won't even bother describing cos it was gross.

my oldest was big as a 14/15 year old,we eat healthly at home, mcdonald's were and is a rare treat,he went to a school that specialised in sport and won award's and evtra income for being in the top 16 school's in briton, for sport, and c.t,he had 7 year's of playing rugby,we couldn't understand how he was putting weight on,as there were good eating habit's at home,so we raised the issue with school,we found out that he and a friend were waiting to near the end of lunch time to get more pudding, sometimes it's not the parent's fault there kid's are big,i never fru food,i don't add any extra oil/fat and they eat vegatable's,his downfall was and is,if he eat's breakfast or something before lunch he throw's it up,he doesn't do it to himself,he's body just can't take in food before lunch x

I can believe that, I don't tolerate food to well first thing either. I need to be up at least 2 hours before I can even look at it. My boy on the otherhand open's his eyes in the morning and the first words out of his mouth are "cereal mummy" lol.
