Why do family members feel they can talk to you any kind of way?

i am sorry if yours do to you, but i have to say my 2 girls are great, they have never bad mouthed me or their dad once, yes we,ve argued, what family hasnt, but never been disrespecful once and they are adults them selves now
and now we enjoy going to theatre shows and shopping trips etc together, they are my 2 best pals.
we just enjoy each other company, lots of chats & laughs, and have always been totally honest with one another,
i have been Truely Lucky & Blessed

Because it's easy to hurt the ones you trust. Because you feel like they'll always be there and forgive you in a short while.

because once you've been around somebody as much as your family you may not think you have to always watch what you say to them... they're the people that you're not supposed to have to be careful with your image around, because they'll be there for you no matter how you come across with your words...

Because you have been allowed to.

"I love and trust you so much that I can now vent all of my negativity in your general direction without fear of you running away."

More or less.

Not in my house, they get the look and I say, "You'd better not be talking to me." I leave the room.

I try and teach my kids that they should treat their family better than anyone else.

Because no-one else will have the same shared experiences or likely care about their well being as much as their family.

In turn I think it helps them to treat others witha lot more thought and repsect

strange but there is love, it just don't look like it.
