"The Beast" Turned On After Repairs

The $10 billion dollar project was turned on last Friday after extensive repairs that took around 14 months to complete.

Particle beams are once again circulating in the world?s most powerful particle accelerator, CERN1?s Large Hadron Collider (LHC). This news comes after the machine was handed over for operation on Wednesday morning. A clockwise circulating beam was established at ten o'clock this evening. This is an important milestone on the road towards first physics at the LHC, expected in 2010.

Want to be that in 2010, there's going to be another problem and they're going to postpone it until Dec 21, 2012? That would be some freaky stuff. Imagine reading that it's going to be postponed until then. Chaos and riots would erupt all over the world.
