and within that
https://europa.eu.int/abc/12lessons/index_en.htm
which contains
0. What purpose does the EU serve?
0. Why and how was it set up?
0. How does it work?
0. What has it already achieved for its citizens, and what new challenges
does it face today?
0. As it expands to embrace 25 or 30 countries, how must the European
Union change?
0. In an age of globalisation, can the EU compete successfully with other
major economies?
0. Can Europe continue to play a leading role on the world stage?
Europe in 12 lessons provides answers to these and many other fascinating
questions. Pascale Fontaine ? EU expert and former university professor ?

activities and how it works. Click on the lesson that interests you.

The European Union is like a United Nations except it is not politically motivated. It is socio-economically based where any issue within the Union goes before a board and is voted on.Any member of the Union is a country who uses the Euro currency.
Almost all economic isssues must be voted by the Union. Some countries have internal Statutes (such as Austria) to govern the desicion of that country before the Union.
In other words it is a monopolization campaign within Europe without the authoratarian State or political corruption involved. Each country makes an independant vote and reflects the economic structure of the Union.

yeah... like odin said!
I was talking to a lawyer other day and he was saying that the whole EU thing is more complicated than it is made out. since a lot of the issues given under european law class with that of the individual country.
i.e. EU law on radiation levels clashes with that in the UK, therefore any older law is deemed irrelevant anymore. Plus, the european court on human rights is seperate to the EU, so conflicts of interest can occur.
To be honest, it benefits some countries more than others. It's a far from balanced political and socio-economic governance!

Constitutional Issues are seperate and dont apply. Constitutions are to control executive powers of politicians and to set a standard for the authoritarian state.
Any country which has a constitution is an authoratarian state. Civil Rights are cited within constitutions so people cant blame about civil and human rights being abused.
This has nothing to do with the European Union although France once proposed a Constitution for the Union. It cant happen. The Union is an economical entity not a political entity. The politics is internal within the country and the only type of Statute which can be created is setting limitations of the Union itself which cannot be politically motivated.
Country Constitutions cannot be removed by a European Constitution. The Union is economical and not political
