Does an affectionate person and non affectionate person go well, in a relationship?

If the girlfriend is affection, and the boyfriend isn't or maybe just a little affectionate, does that cause problems?

Are they compatible?

I think they can be if there is a compromise in the level of affection.

That seems to have been the case in most of my relationships. I'm single at the moment.

I have a strong need for affection in relationships, and I am just as willing to give it out.

So yeah, if he wasn't an affectionate person we might have some issues.

I'm affectionate, my partner is only affectionate when it's bed time. She also doesn't like public displays of affection but there's alot of other strong mortar holding the relationship together so I overlook it.

I'm not at all affectionate, my wife was. Now we're both unaffectionate.

Its either just what marriage does to you or one person gives in.

It depends on the people, I guess. Myself, I'm extremely uncomfortable with affection. I get the willies whenever someone says "I love you", and good luck getting me to say it back. A couple of girls I've dated have had major problems with it, and others have been almost as cold and distant as me. It's all about finding someone you're compatible with, and I believe there is someone for everyone.
