Zen arcade: sooo overrated

Isnt it? Its the forerunner of emo, the acoustic parts are sickening.... not bad by any means, but a classic album? its hardly fresh fruit for rotting vegetables, is it???

I gotta disagree with you I think its definitely a classic album. Not the same as Fresh Fruit or London Calling but still a classic in its own right.

P.S. I love Progressive Hardcore, like Husker Du and Fugazi, so that's probably influencing my opinion.

I'll also disagree. Zen Arcade is one of my favorite albums. Chartered Trips is one of my favorite songs to this day. Its hard to call it overrated when the average person hasn't even heard of Husker Du let alone one of their albums.

The Dead Kennedy's were great too, but they are pretty different. Besides both being categorized under the large umbrella that encompasses punk they aren't that similar.

I know Husker Du (and bought one of their albums) for only one song. Now, many years later I have forgotten the name of the song or even how it went.

I didn't really have many punk albums in the past, unless you consider Carter U.S.M. 'punk.'

I do remember the short-lived 'True Sounds of Liberty' though.
