this is AVG. Probably the best Free internet security. I'd also recommend spybot, just incase.

They wont. AVG is highly popular and very well thought of. As is spybot. if you're that cautious, install spybot first, then if you do get anything bad, use spybot to remove it.

But there arent really many malicious programs out there in the first pages of google

yeah, go with AVG. its free with certain features but limited compared with McAfee or NOD32. so for free, AVG is the way to go

Yeah. As far as I know, the only free online security is AVG. Try that. Avira AntiVir has online security, but you gotta pay for it.

Ok that settles it! I'm getting rid of this piece of s*** Mcafee that came with my Comcast service and downloading AVG. I'm fed up with McAfee kicking in every 5 f***ing minutes and causing my POS computer to freeze and sign me out of s***!

I use AVG Free and Ad-aware. Spybot can sometimes delete things that are not spyware or malware and can corrupt files if you delete/clean the wrong things.
