Poster's name, but no post?

Someone please checkout this 'case of the missing post.'

My friend is a new member whose name appears on the forum menu when she posts, but when I go to view it, there is no post to read. Try it for yourself, and see if it is only me (using 2 separate browsers) that finds nothing but a skipped number sequence. An example: Look for Subjectivity9 on the 'what is good...' thread.

Ok, I can't see any "obvious" reason, but the spam filter is picking up her posts and putting them in quarantine. I assume that she can see her own posts...is that correct?

I'm going to go remove her current posts from quarantine, but for now, my suggestion would be to not use brackets until she has more points. Also, until she has more points, she can't quote people using the quote box. I think she needs 50 points for that.

Could you find her username on that page?
Could you locate her post on the thread that I mentioned?

I'm a moderator, so I can see anything on the site, even posts in quarantine. I can see her posts, and I'm working on taking them out of quarantine, with the exception of one which was a double post

Yes, only she can see them; which is sort of crappy. Without another computer, she'd never have a clue as to why she was being ignored.

She doesn't use the quote box, nor does she use brackets '[]'

So, am I to assume that all is well?

She has used brackets [some text] in every post. I think that's why the spam filter is picking them up.

OK, sorry, I'm informed that she does use brackets. She will cease & desist from it.

Happens to me a couple of times...

I get the subscription post alert when I sign on...I go to the thread and there is no post to read. But you can see that the number has changed from 25 to 26 and who did it, but there's no post.

I believe its the glitch conspiracy!

Have her type some posts directly into the reply box. It appears they are being typed like into word or something then copied over.

It happened to me tonight and I typed directly in. I typed in a reply several hours later, and my first reply popped up on a new page. Weird, I kept looking for it. Sometimes you have to kick start things.

Well, in your case it would be due to a small discrepancy in the database. There can be several reasons for apparently simliar phenomena.
