I'm all for it, I don't think they count as actual lives anyway, just a bunch of cells. (If this is in reference to stem cell research).

Because some argue that the cells used to grow stem cells could go on to become embryoes if they were to be left in the body. So then you get the whole 'when does life begin' argument, which has never really been solved, plus the religious implications of it.

It's an ethics issue. The subject itself is highly controversial. It's mostly religious people who insist the study which could potentially find cures for fatal diseases is created by a guy called Stan (satan pun). I personally think that's a lot of bologna, but that's just me. I mean, if I were given only two choices to either abort or give up the embryo as research material, I'd choose that. It'd certainly help a lot of people that way.

you can be sure of one thing if some one who doent believe in it would soon change there minds if found out to be ill and the only treatment was found with stem cell testing

Yes, that might be true. There was a girl on here not too long ago that said that hospitals and well... pretty much the evolution of medical practice was an invention from hell and a rebellion against someone so called god. So who knows, these people might actually change their minds for the better or continue to believe in a false god.

I support stem cell research... it gets really complicated in certain situations however, then you have to kind of step back and decide whether whats going on is morally right or not. But in my opinion I think, for the most part, that stem cell research is a very positive thing.

Have you read "My Sister's Keeper" by Jodi Piccoult?

They just came out with a movie too but I haven't seen it so I don't know if it follows the book completely or not.

If people want to believe it is wrong, that is their opinion. But say if they find the cure to cancer by doing this research, I think those who think it is wrong would want the medicine to cure their cancer. Then they should be denied. They can't have it both ways.

As long as designer babies are left well alone. That's messing with nature way to much!
