This is an excellent account of how sports can mean so much to the smaller towns. This is the true story of the 1988 Odessa Permian Panthers. What makes this movie so great is that it also examines the darker side of the team instead of just showing how dominant their team is during the football season. You really get the feel about how much the game means to the town where there really isn't much to do and how much the players and coach has to overcome. It's an action packed sports drama that it is worth watching.
