If you returned the money, you must know who you stole it from. If you knew who to return it to, you must have some semblance of events of the night before in your mind. Your boyfriend was obviously sober and was witness to it - or at least, you told him about it. I find it hard to believe you recall nothing about this. Sorry - but true.
It's great you returned the money. I'm not sure what else to say. Personally, I have been drunk out of my skull but still would not have committed a crime.
If all is well and no-one is likely to notice your infringement, then cool - you are off the hook - for now. Did this take place in a public place or private home?
