freedom

i need some help with an essay im writing for english [ugh...] so PLEASE, only give serious answers!

WHAT DOES FREEDOM MEAN TO YOU??

im writing about freedom but it would be SO much easier with some answers to that question! dont worry! im not going to use your answer as mine! i just want to know what everyone veiws as freedom!

Freedom to me is the ability to think and do what I want.

For me, its simple, I do as I please, Nobody bothers me and vice versa. This way I continue to float through life. I have to say that it works pretty well.

Freedom is tough laws against criminals, limited goverment, and a strong military. Everything else falls into place.

Freedom is the right to do your own thing, as long as doing so does not infringe on anothers right to do their own thing.

Freedom in my opinion is the natural consequence of power. Only when you have power can you truly discover who or what you are.

Freedom is taking responsibility for your own life, and not depending on anyone, including the government, to do it for you. It's the ability to think, do, say, and believe whatever you want, as long as you're willing to accept the risks, and not force your ideals on someone who wants nothing to do with them.

Freedom is what most First Nations had before "discovery"!

Freedom is clearly a totally subjective idea which has different meanings to different people. Sometimes these meanings are even contradictory. I think freedom is about allowing people to live as they wish as long as they cause no suffering by doing so.
