The European Revival - Absolute favorite. Especially the churches and the stained glasses.

Era of Pop Art and Photorealism...two of my favorites.

FUTURISM!

In fact, because this is my first post on this site, I may as well render myself utterly unpopular by giving a list of what I consider the most 'Over-Rated' art movements and the most 'Under-Rated'

UNDER-RATED
Futurism
Arte Povera
New Objectivity
Rococo
Dutch seascapes (okay, I know that's not a 'movement', but in many ways, I feel it SHOULD have been!)

OVER-RATED
Impressionism
Post-Impressionism
Italian Renaissance (okay, I know that's not a 'movement', but you know what I mean)
Post Modernism (generally, although Clemente ROCKS)

THOUGHTS?

I like art that moves me, an individual work of art as opposed to an entire movement. It may be a mobile by Calder or an unknown by Chagall,or something by a local artist that no one knows. It doesn't matter if it speaks to me.

AGREED! Very nice bathroom wallpaper. Can think of nothing I'd rather be looking at whilst on the loo.

I truly enjoy the Northern Renaissance painters. They took the naturalism of the Italian artists and took it a step further. The symbolism is rich, the atmosphere is cool, and the textures are striking!
