We have not yet heard the speech here in France but I do admire the way he walks into the dragon's den and says, 'Turn the flames down for a while and lets talk about it'.

The dragon's den is a popular euphimism for a place where others might hesitate to go.

OK let me rephrase that. I know what a dragon's den is. What I MEANT to ask is why did you compare Notre Dame to a dragon's den?

A pro-choice advocate would expect a less than rapturous reception in a Roman Catholic school here. I presume it would be even cooler in USA.

local news claimed dozens of unruly protesters arrested
on Saturday. Sunday was more subdued. South bend is two hours drive from here. So its been soaking the news.

Well it is good to see that Notre Dame did not close off the minds of thir students to be able to hear Obama.
Obama makes good sense and it came out well in his speach.
