Would you give money to homeless man if they were honest?

Matthew 25:40-45King James Version (KJV)

40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.

I do not always give. If my heart is good and I see there is true need I do give. Not a lot usually maybe a dollar. It is hard to tell about the honest part. I once gave to a guy who had a sign "why lie, I just need a beer." I guess he was honest, and original too. I almost always give around Christmas. I tell them "God bless you." They are usually surprised and say that to me also. I heard a story once that it is good luck to give money to a chimney sweep. I think of that and maybe it is good luck to give a little.
