In art, my friends and I were talking about our relationship preferences. I brought up the question:
"Who wouldn't you date?"

I said: I'd never date a guy with a drug or alcohol problem.
My friend, Blair, said: "I wouldn't date a black guy."

When asked why, she said:
"Idk, I just wouldn't. I don't mind being friends with a balck person though, obviously"

Well yeah, our friends Jamicka and Tyler (both are black) were both sitting there in the conversation, and we're good friends with both of them.

So would you call her racist?

I don't think she's racist.
Jamicka said she probably wouldn't date a white guy.

No, not when it comes to who you want to date......you can't control who you are attracted to.
You can control who you are civil to, allow to vote and hire for employment. That's the difference to me.
And as for who negged you..... I don't understand what was so offensive about it. I wish people who neg would say why, instead of just negging and leaving.

Yeah they may well be jerks.
I suspect most of the time, they just don't understand that a neg is not designed for "I disagree."
It's supposed to be for flames and trolling and stuff. In my opinion anyway.
Disagreeing with someone ele's point of view shouldn't cost them points. I just don't think it's fair.
anyhoo....

The racist issue is a one way road at present.....people who voted for obama purely cos he was coloured were allowed to without being accused of racism.....anyone who had voted for mccain and had said they wanted a white man as president would have been deemed a racist....its a nonsense.
there is nothing inherently evil or racist in a white man saying he doesnt like blacks, any more than a black man saying he doesnt like whites......are we not allowed to have preferences any more?

I don't think she's racist. Maybe she watches a lot of porn and doesn't like what she sees in the interracial stuff.

She just isn't attracted to black people, and there is nothing wrong with that. You can't help who you're attracted to.

Were you responding to me?

If so, I strongly disagree.

You cannot "make" yourself attracted to someone. You can try to tell yourself that the person is attractive to you, but deep down, no matter what you do, that attraction just won't be there.

I'm talking about first impressions though. Attraction can develop later in a relationship, although it's rare. Attraction is hard wired in the brain, you can't really change the hardware.

I would never date a black girl.
Just isn't my preference.
But I have a few black girls I am friends with.
