how do u extract files from your computer to a cd

i need to download something on my computer and extract it to burn it to a cd in order to fix my computer and i was just wondering if anyone knew how to do to do that.
cuz i have no clue.

whts the extension of the file that you will be downloading..
for example..if they are .rar then use winrar to extract files.

I think it's like a USB pen, you get a blank CD, go to my computer and then click removable storage. Once you done that, open up the folder you want to transfer your files from, select all.. then control c, then open the window you're extracting your files to, via the removable storage one.. and press control v, then I think that's it.. I don't know if it's the same as the USB pen... but it might work.

Use Winrar Winzip or 7Zip to get the files onto your desktop put a cd in the drive highlight all the files and then hover over sendto and click your disk drive

well i was trying to download the installion software that goes to my hard drive onto a computer and burn it to a cd so i can use it on my computer but my sister did it on hers so i have the installion disk for my hard drive cuz my computer says i dont have a hard drive installed and thats whats wrong with the computer.

You dont have a hard drive installed?
if you didnt have a hard drive installed then surely your computer couldnt tell you about it?

no i have a hard drive in the computer but when i turn it on it starts to load the windows but it automatically reboots and a blue screen pops up really fast and it says that the hard drive was uninstalled.

but its weird cuz now before it reboots windows starts to load but then it reboots and tells me to put the windows disk in and restart the computer and select the language settings and then click repair my computer but we tried that and it didnt do anything it said there wasnt a hard drive installed.

im sure a computer professional would have no bother fixing that for what i dont think would be too high a price

well i downloaded it off the western digital website and i didnt do it on my computer i cant even get on my computer but i figured out today whats wrong with it its the hard drive i did a diagnostics test on it today and it failed.
and i talked to someone at pc laptops and they told me that when u have a bad hard drive it plays games with your computer.
and told me to take the hard drive back to the store and use my warranty on it to get a new one but i threw the box and the reciept away before it crashed i dont even have the disk that goes with it.
