Just to clear up some confusion about reporting posts:

If you have reported a post and it hasn't been dealt with from what you can tell, please do not report the same post a second, third, or fourth time. While we are very happy you are using the report feature, reporting the same post multiple times is unnecessary and creates extra work for us to look through.

An apparent "lack of action" either means that no staff has yet seen the reported post, the post has been reviewed and staff has decided no action is needed, or that staff is unsure of how to exactly handle the issue and is waiting for some input from Tino or other admin/mods.

Thank you!

*This is not directed towards a single person. Many users seem to be confused about this.

Are reports still anonymous or are mods able to see who is reporting now?

ETA: to clarify, I'm just curious

They are confidential, but no longer anonymous. However, we have to click a link to see who reported the post and generally we don't really care to check.

If we see the same post reported a bunch of times we may get curious and investigate a bit. Also in the past there has been abuse of the report post function in other ways as well.

Ok, that's cool. I know it used to have that little "all reports are anonymous" message when you reported a post, but it disappeared a while back. I meant to ask Wild when I first noticed it and never got around to it, so I saw this as an opportunity

Personally, I don't care if you know I'm reporting a post, and I used to PM whatever mods were on when I'd report a post and thank them for deleting it when I noticed it was gone anyway, so they had to know I reported it
