Not a bad idea, but 2-3 months seems short. I know some people who turn their service off for the summer to save money and then turn it back on afterward. They would lose their accounts due to that. But I could see if someone does not return in 6 months to a year.

Agree with you whole-heartedly. There should be a time limit and maybe a period of grace before complete closure if in doubt, but why leave items to onlt catch dust and rob space??!!!

Tino does delete inactive accounts. I'm not sure of the length though.

Many posters started out not using TFS all that often, and then months later came back and are actually pretty active posters.

As for the birthday list, a couple weeks ago it was changed to show only the top 50 most recently active users.

We could start a petition thread for el tino to read. If enough people post on that thread, he might go with it.

Deleting people who have made posts, regardless of how long it's been since they've been here, is a bad idea. It might leave "holes" in topics. And I know there are many forums that I probably haven't visited in years, but I would be mad if I tried to go there and my account was deleted.

@beatboxer Said

i'm surprised they dont do that on tfs. other sites usually do. i think it's a good idea though. why join a site if you're never going to go on it?

What makes you think it doesn't happen? For the record, accounts not used for 13 months, and with no posts, are deleted.

@moonlighthopes Said

I think it's a good idea, because the birthday list is full of people who are never here, and if you want to see who's birthday it is, it's hard to pick out a name you know out of a huge list of people who logged on once.

People who logged in recently are at the top of the list.
