Actually, I'm not all that pleased with this stimulus plan because it's just a "quick" version of what the republicants have been pushing through over the last 8 years..

Though some economists are saying that because it's quick, it might work better than the sneaky way the cants tripled the deficit.

As for the "travel permits" you speak of.. you're just making stuff up now to try and get a rise out of people. That's the way the cants work.. if you don't have a good reason to not like something, make people afraid of it instead.

Only thig I fear is liberals with power.

Wrong.

Kinda, but it's too small and has too many tax cuts to really be effective.

Also,what does health care and other things have to do with getting more jobs.

When people have health care, they employ doctors, nurses, radiologists, medical technicians, hospital janitors, billing specialists, etc. Those people then go out and spend their money at stores, restaurants, on products, etc. which in turn employ people who go out and spend money on... you get the idea, yes?

@raditz8526 Said

Because it's not a stimulus bill, it's a spending bill.

Don't get economics eh? Spending and stimulus are functionally equivalent. You can't stimulate without spending, and you can't spend without stimulating.

I keep hearing that....creating service jobs rebuilding infrastructure. These jobs, are they long term? Or will they work on say a bridge project or dam and then end? Are those specialists not already employed by the Army Corps of Engineers?

They do not need to be long term. They just need to get the public to be confident of the economy. If you spend enough money, you will get the public to be confident of the economy.

We have inflation (every one who buys anything Knows that)
rising unemployment(meaning more people will have less to spend)a banking crisis (many of the largest banks on the verge of collapse)a housing crisis with people unable to pay their mortgages! All of these things will combine in a snowball effect and will bring down the economy even farther! The stock markets precipitous decline over the past few months,should only be seen as a reflection of the mood of investors,that mood could be said to be panic.
Al of this will continue. The palliative effects of the stimulus,will be short lived and temporary. Do not forget our economy is dependent on foreign economies,as theirs are on ours! So this will turn out to be a world wide depression. Wish I could give you better news!

I disagree. If the stimulus can get people to trust the economy, it would create lasting prosperity (until we hit the next recession...).

I disagree with that last statement!

You will most likely disagree with this statement also. But I think every thing possible should be tried, to avert depression, I merely think that it will not be effective! And will only add to the problems,these problems must be addressed internationally,or other nation's problems will come back to haunt us!
