suggestions for revamping the presently failing system of student
conduct on our school campus.

1, CLOSED CAMPUS --Except as authorized
a, To non students coming on campus.
b, To students leaving campus.
c, Encourage student participation to carry out program.
2, DRESS CODE
a, Acceptable to community norms.
b, Not a distraction to others.
c, Prepare now for radical changes in youth dress.
3, SMOKING ON CAMPUS
A, Still a law preventing minors from buying.
b, Verified threat to personal health.
c, Imposition on others rights and health.
d, Stump to remove State permissive smoking laws.
4, DISCIPLINE IN CLASSROOM AND ON CAMPUS
a, Establish a code of conduct for publication and later follow up verbal communication to the students. Base it on courtesy, respect and tolerance.
b, Prepare a form letter to be delivered to the
parents to determine the extent of disciplinary action that they would permit to correct their child's actual digressive behavioral attitude - as opposed to accepted community norms.
c, Encourage students to take pride in constructive personal behavior.
5, RESPONSIBILITY ON AND OFF CAMPUS
a, To peer group.
b, To school authority.
c. To the community.
d, Initiate action to void State and Federal laws pertaining to youth.- Return that responsibility to the community.

It's pretty important to teach people to a uniform level nationally, even internationally.
What one local community deems a good education may be a different standard than another and when those kids step out into the big bad world and start applying for college it's in their interest to have a good grounding on par with everyone else.

Consider that there are three (I think) areas of student absorption. They are the basic tools of spelling, writing, reading,and computing; FED
The extended tools of history, geography, art,
science, government, and extended computing; STATE
And the abstract use of
the above. LOCAL
