wage rise

well we've just had a letter at work explaining that our wages will be going up (it says by the bank of england figure) of 2%, now i might be wrong here but im sure i heard on the news last week that they announced that inflation was something like 4%?

are they doing something illegal by giving us half of what it should be?

No I don't think they even have to give you a cost of living rise

on another note should they really use made up figures to explain a pay rise, why not just simply say 'were giving you a 2% pay rise' without even mentioning (wrong) inflation figures?

cost of living dosen't follow the reate of inflation. house prices are above that rate of inflation, but the price is falling

Hang on, by definition, isn't that exactly what inflation is? i.e. a figure mapping the rate of increase in the price of goods & services (i.e. cost of living) within an economic system.

does everyone get the 2% at your firm????
If so make certain that your yearly merit increase is seperate.

yeah everyone gets 2% well us lowly office staff anyway not sure about management
