So who's parents are divorced around here?

Yes i agree, parents often over-look their childrens feelings - although they often don't mean to. No one ever said it would be easy...

I am half lucky to have a sister, we arn't exactly friends, - far from it, but at least we understand each other about this.

My parents are still married. However..I'm 25..and they've been seperated since I was like 1. My Dad recently found out he had leukemia...(He's actually having a transplant done today )..and weirdly enough has decided that maybe it's time they took care of that. I'm guessing he thinks that if he dies..then my mom doesn't deserve the social security she would recieve. They get along well enough..but who knows why they've never done it.

My original parents split up when I was two...now 25 years later my mom is in the middle of her second divorce...hurts to see her like this but I'm going to make sure she isn't alone this time around. I was too young to help out the first time...it's going to be real hard on my 7 year old brother too...his dad is a piece of s*** and doesn't even spend time with him...so it's for the best if he just disappears...I'll be there for my brother. He needs a positive male influence in his life not a phony like his real dad.

yep, when i was 11, haven't seen my dad for a few years. i can't really remember much about him, i do miss him but its really complicated and i don't feel like going in to all that stuff again and besides im in too good a mood right now

I wish I could say my parents even got that far.They just had one night of wild sex and bam here I am.It's kind of a downer to think they hate each other so much that they can't even stand to hear the others name,yet they could have sex 21 years ago to concieve me.

my parents split when i was 4...i didn't see my mum for years afterwards and then she moved to the states,finally tracked her down and got to see her when i was 14, spent 6 weeks with her and my stepdad and then didn't see her until feb this year when she came over to visit and to meet her two grandchild was great for the kids to finally meet there grandmother and now i'm off on tuesday to stay with her for 5 weeks..yay..
Altho i am happy and so excited to be going it did take me a long time to try and understand what she did to my brother and i and at 27yrs old i still don't understand how a mother or any parent can just walk out on there kids,but all that said i'm glad i am starting to get to know her as a person,she'll never really be a mother to me, just a friend i think thats the best i can do..
