The government can do something. It could reign in all the ridiculous finalcial speculation that put the banks into the mess there in.
Stopping so called 'short trading' permanently would be a good start.
But there is no way our (UK) government would have the guts to do anything like this, so they just keep papering over the cracks.
The economy will fail eventually unless the system is properly overhauled, and no amount of 'bail outs' will change that, merely delay it.



thats exactly what i am afraid of.

we need a government that are not afraid to upset a few voters in the process of dragging us out of this mess.
