Screaming Fans: How ridiculous are these people?

It's mostly women, so that's why I put in this forum.

When I see maddened women, girl, teens, and females of all ages, running and screaming to catch a glimpse of their favorite star I can't help but to inwardly chuckle. is it really that serious? they're just people like you and me. granted, they're very talented people, but we all have our talents. what is the big deal?

Must be hormones. Like the girls in the 60s, wetting their seats whilst watching the Beatles. Who knows.

they're only people.

sometimes they're people who have achieved a lot, or at least have made a lot of money, so fair play to them, but the romantisised view people have of them is frikken scary.

when just looking and talking about people's lives, gossiping, is a billion dollar industry it makes me a little sick.

The nature of fame has changed, I think. At one time, to be a celebrity you had to be 'celebrated' for something, hence the word. Now, all you have to do is appear on the likes of 'Big Brother' and you're famous, a 'celebrity'. We no longer demand anything more than exposure. That's how the likes of Jade Goody can become a famous person. The word 'Talent' has become devalued, hasn't it?

I believe that these females need something to get excited about. I'd be interested in seeing how their personal life really is. It's almost like an obsession. Or, an infatuation. I'd even bet that some of them believe that the singers are singing to them (personally).

Eh, I will happily cheer if I go to see my favourite bands live, but I'm not at the point where I start screaming and crying like I have seen some girls do.
