...and tell me what you think. I'm working on a formal lab report and I'm not sure about my abstract. Need to know if it's clear enough what I did and stuff.

In this experiment, the optimum concentration of an acetonitrile and water mobile phase for the separation of a cortisone mixture using high performance liquid chromatography was determined. This was achieved by running a testosterone sample through the instrument at various concentrations of acetonitrile starting at 45% acetonitrile and finishing with 75%. The results were plotting in this graph (see appendix 1). The optimum concentration was determined to be 60% acetonitrile in water.

I have little knowledge of chemistry . I must accept that the interpretation of the results shown on the graph to be correct and I do not know what instrument that the testosterone sample was passed through although I deduce that it is one used in Chromatography?

A high performance liquid chromatography instrument. Can't upload the graph. Even when I stick it on the back of my report it'll be a photocopy since I can't scan stuff.

I note that your concentrations of the mixture beginning with 45% going to 75% covers 15% below and above the optimum. Did you know before hand that 60% was the optimum?

No. It was one of the aims. The concentrations we ran the testosterone at were already set out for us.

I also have no clue when it comes to chemistry. I don't understand the terms, per say, but I do get the out come. It seems like it would be clear to the intended audience who would have that knowledge of chemisty.

Awesome. Then it's ok. I basically just looked at the example we had from a presentation and did the same thing, just with a different experiment on different equipment.

Bit confused about the comment but thanks. I handed it in about 2 weeks ago.
