Indiana and North Carolina are looking like they might fall Obama's way. That would bring his total up to 364. 375 if you include Missouri.

Wow, Missouri's a close one right now... McCain ahead by only 2,000 out of nearly 3 million.

I think its SUPER NEWS!!!!

I have to admit, i am surprised, i let a few loony right wingers make me think most of the USA were supporting McCain.

Thank God the majority had sense enough to elect a president the rest of the world can actually negotiate with

Hard times are ahead but i bet you my a** you will get more help with Obama in the house than you would have.

CNN et al have called Indiana for Obama. He won by fewer than 25,000 votes.

Brings his electoral vote count up to 349, with North Carolina and Missouri still outstanding.

He's likely to get Missouri if past history is anything to go by. We've picked every president bar 1 in the last 100 years! And by 'we' I of course mean 'they' since not only have I only lived her for 2 years, but I can't even vote...

As a stockmarket trader Im carefully noting the sectors that are responding on the stockmarket to the new president who hasn't been innauguated yet, not happening to January 20th 2009. Electoral college December 21/22 Winter Equinox. As I did when George Bush came to power, in his case it was oil and gas.

Myself I like Obama universal healthcare, if the United States manages that, it could then possibly be called civilised, untill then it is a backward country.

Did Obama get Missouri? I thought it was going to McCain, but it was blue on CNN's map on TV a minute ago...

Congratulations America on voting in the right man for the job. Britain already seems to be tingling with anticipation, PM Gordon Brown has wasted no time in attaching himself to Mr Obama, revealing that he is as excited as anyone over the new President-elect.
