My favorites:
1. Grilled Tomato and Cheese Sandwich - Any bread, thick slices of hearty tomatoes, and a smokey cheese. Spread outside of bread with butter, and grill it until it's toasted. Yummy!
2. Open Face Nut/Pear/Cheese Sandwich - Toasted walnuts, sliced pears, and brie cheese on a thick wheat bread baked at 300 degrees for 10 minutes. It's a delicious sandwich that is great in the fall, where there are many fresh pears to be found at the market.
3. Classic Egg Salad - Any white bread. Hard boiled eggs, chilled, peeled, and chopped up. Mixed with mayo and mustard. Spread on the white bread, sprinkle with pepper and a dash of hot sauce if you like, and eat. Always delicious.
4. After Thanksgiving Sandwich (this is my all time favorite!) - French bread or any leftover bread, spread with mayo on one slice, topped with stuffing and turkey. Spread the other slice with cranberries in sauce, put it together, and eat! Yum! It's so good.
5. Hawaiian Sandwich - Toasted bread, any kind, spread with mayo, and honey mustard, topped with sliced smoked turkey, sliced pineapple, swiss cheese. It's really good.
6. Open Faced Pastrami - Toasted english muffin spread with butter, melted. Topped with sliced tomato, thinly sliced onion, pastrami, american cheese, salt & pepper.
