Oh please. informed to what? guarantees that life is going to be exactly what you went in with extreme surgery as what you will have coming out? now you are asking for perfection in human surgical hands? the guy lives? yes? there are too many tragic deaths to discuss this. I know a good deceased friend who would have given anything to watch her kids grow. This is why healthcare is so stinking stupidly high. The GUY LiVED! Yeesh.

I was reading this a few days ago, it's all a bit half half.

They should have either, as has been said, discussed the possibility beforehand, or left it till after the operation.

But then again, now, later, doesn't make much of a difference, it was going to happen either way.
