IE 8 is truly a beta, and it bugs me, I want to install IE7, but it won't let me install IE7, saying a more recent version is already installed. But IE is not on the list of programs that can be uninstalled in the control panel. Putting IE8 in IE7 mode doesn't work, it's still not acting like IE7 actually does. I need to get IE7 so I can do testing on my website design. Please help me!

I have both already. I only need IE7 for website design testing purposes.

You should be able to just google Internet Explorer 7 and find it for download from Microsoft

If you don't want mozilla though you can always system restore back to before installing IE8

Wouldnt work, microsoft make it so when you try and back install it goes "no no no no, you have new stuff now" and stops the setup.

Oh, it's in the program list, as "Windows Internet Explorer 8 beta 2", I was looking for "Internet Explorer" or "Microsoft Internet Explorer", so I never got that far down the list, lol.

This is why I never install betas. PERIOD. It is not worth the effort, the worst case scenario of repairing the damage caused by installing a beta, then uninstalling betas, is errrrr.....reinstalling windows, unless you want firefox 3, which is a good one

I am not going to try Safari or Google Chrome

But not if you system restore soon enough while you still have the restore point before you had IE8...

And I've heard safari is a bit lame..I think I may have used it once, if I did I erased it from my memory I was that horified.

it sure is taking it's sweet time though, geez...Chrome is done in 30 seconds, and IE7 is sitting there twiddling it's thumbs for the last 10 minutes.

Because the moment google make a browser as good or better than microsoft or mozilla, the world shall implode.

Ok, finally, IE7 installed! Took long enough! But wow, IE8 really screws up webpages! And IE7 mode in IE8 acts nothing like IE7 really does.
