Laptop Battery In the freezer.

Batteries do not like the cold, the opposite is true. The cold could run the risk of wiping data from the laptop.

Although this topic is well dated and no doubt the participants have long gone on to other things it's only advisable to put NiMH or NiCD batteries in the freezer, in a tightly sealed container. Do not put Lithium Ion batteries in a freezer unless you feel you need a new freezer.

If the battery was from an HP machine it's worth checking their website, they did a massive battery recall which is still ongoing and covers batteries from long ago. Just like this thread......

"Back in the day" I had heard that about alkaline batteries for flashlights, radios, toys and what not... that they'll last longer or something like that.

Haven't heard of that for laptop batteries.

Though I've heard it's good for blue jeans too.

It's also great for keeping ice cream from going bad.

Brake fluid, it was great for taking signatures off bank cards too so you could sign their name in your handwriting.....

Anyways yes freezers are fantastic things!
