My dad was an abusive drunk..

I grew up all around drunks

I actually started to become on myself..

Then one day, I woke up & decided, Well, I have a good job, a family, own my home.. why do I need this??

I haven't touched a drop in 5 years after dropping it cold turkey...

Now it's "Don't want it done need it, doing fine without it!!"

Well done, that must have been hard

I agree though i wish others could see what affects its having on them and others around them.

Alcohol hasn't destroyed families. People being irresponsible with it, has done that. The same with guns, etc. People are responsible for their own actions.

exactly. I'm sorry to hear you had to go through that, and although if alcohol was illegal you might not of had to, still, it's their fault for allowing it to have that affect.

So who's fault is it when the drunk person goes out & drives and kills an innocent family??

The family for being in the drunk's way??

That's one of the many ways alcohol affects others around them..

It won't change though.. Drunks will still drive drunk but I do wish there was a way to open their eyes.....

As I just said, it would be the drunk's fault. And that person should pay the consequences. Sadly, some people will always be naive and won't listen to reason and people trying to help them.
