My 16 & 17 year pld boys were out on the way to the shop when a few
younger boys threatened them & one hit my 16 year old in the
legs with an iron bar &around his head and his epileptic & continued to cause malice but yet our sons could do nothing as they would be charged with hitting a minor.
What the f**k has happened with judicial common sense?

Your sons would not be convicted of a crime if they defended themselves against assailants, even if they were a few years younger.

Sorry, I think you're just incorrect here.

I think it would have been ok for them to hit back, as that would have gone down as self defence. I refuse to believe our system is really that unfair.

jeez these 10 guys must of been pretty weak.

getting hit by an iron bar, and only getting bruising.

yeah but my boys would come under adult law where as the younger ones would come under minors law,and i we have brought them up to violence is not the answer and if they had lost their temper and started hitting(which would be punching)they would have seriously hurt the younger boys,so they did nothing and phoned us,by the time mick had got a few feet from the house they phoned again to say the boys had gone, the law here is s***,my youngest got epilepsy from being kicked about the head many times by two adult men,one was 40 and it took the police 15 days after it was reported to come round and get a statement and nothing has been done to these adults, and my son was 14 at the time.

all the people involved in this would be classed as juvenile offenders.

Yes Mark there is the element of luck that there was no injury
of any substance, this thread however was less about that
(More of a point if anything serious though) it is just
what made us realise how weak & pathetically out of date
the British legal system can be, in other serious instances
even more so, that was all.
