I love classical music. Some of my favorite composers are Mahler,Shostakovich,Tchiakovsky etc. I wish to correspond with somebody who beleives ,like I do that classical music is the eigth wonder of the world.Iknow a lot about composers and conductors.I beleive that Leonard Bernstein was the last great conductor. Probably Furtwangler is my all time favorite. Please feel free to pm me or go to e-mail- @comcast. net">rziegler1956 @comcast. net Bravo!

Hi Harry! Just wondering, since you live in England, have you had the chance to catch any symphony performances? I have cd's of the London Symphony Orchestra playing music of Shostakovich. I think they do a great job with Russian music and German.like Mahler. Are you a concert goer? I live near Detroit,Michigan and they have a world-class orchestra. Leonard Slatkin is now the principal conductor!

The closest thing I listen to classical music would be Opera. And in that Wagner & Verdi are the fave composers.

Have you tried Puccini? Such as La Boheme and Turandot-works that would be certain to please.

I listen to classical music when I study.

I started because someone told me it was good to listen to when studying for some reason.

I have really started to like it though - but I don't know much about it.

Then again - I also study to Chuck Berry and Little Richard

La Boheme is very good and I plan on going to see a Live HD Broadcast in theaters this Spring. His Manon Lescaut is also playing in 2 weeks and if I can get tickets I'll get the HD tickets.

But my favorite Puccini would Madam Butterfly.

But I will be going to see La Traviata next month.

Was hoping to see Wagner's Die Walk?re this weekend but unfortunately I have a non-classical concert to go to the same day, wouldn't give me enough space to make it from one part of town to the other and have something to eat :/

I've been throwing around the idea of going back to school to take music history/theory etc in classical & opera just to learn more and perhaps get a career somewhere in the field teaching or working in a concert hall or the met... now that would be awesome.
