I have an IDE HDD that was in a PC as a master at one point the operating system became corrupt so I installed it as a slave to retain the data. I now want to install it in a USB caddy. it is recognised as being there but does not allocate a drive letter to it. I can't see it in my computer but can in device manager. I have tried every jumper setting combination to no avail. another HDD works fine.

Any suggestions?
