I think when a girl says it, its an excuse she doesn't wanna date you but just doesn't wanna just say no. When a guy says it he is afraid of rejection and or getting hurt.

Trying anything doesnt require that much effort. Keeping it going is the part you have to work at. One date wont kill anyone, then you know you tried. Its not like you failed, they just arent for you....which is OK. You never know, thats how I met my love.
