Do Pressure Groups Help Or Hinder Democracy?

Just been studying that question this week for politics, it's very interesting with points for both sides. I was just wondering what your opinion is.

i wouldnt say they hinder democracy,usualy preasure groups represent a certain sector of the public which isnt represented in parliament,so i would say they promote a representetive democracy as they help widen the scope of representation.

Tricky question but in general I think people can hinder or inspire. It all depends on what kind of group you happen to fall into.
