my computer as fallen ill
something on the motherboard is slowing dying and apparently one day i just won't beable to switch it on and will loose everything. A pc mag which i read suggests instead of backing everything onto a disk you can pay something like ?25 a year for an online backup where a company will keep your stuff on there service. anyone use this kind of backup as it's a pain remembering what ive backup up and not

It's way too slow to backup all your files that way.

Just buy an external drive like a USB drive and backup onto that. Some come with free backup software.

I have a 200 gig Maxtor OneTouch III, and it's great. It took 5 minutes to set it up to synchronize my important files and now I basically never even think about it.

My laptop died, I reinstalled windows, hit the sync button on the front and I had all my important stuff back like I'd never lost it.

I agree with what El Tino said here, I use a 250GB USB external drive to keep ALL my downloads & pics & music and etc....
